A close-up photograph of the altar, which is covered in a red and gold cloth. The altar contains a clay chalice, a rose quartz orb, braids of sweetgrass, feathers, bundles of sage, a living plant, and other sacred objects.
An interior view of ADT's studio space. There is as gray marley floor opening towards mirrored walls that reflect the foliage along University Ave. Community members are visible in the space beyond the studio floor.

getting here

The Shawngrām Institute for Performance & Social Justice is located at 1197 University Ave W, St. Paul, MN 55104.

There is a small, ADA-accessible parking lot adjacent to our building. If you plan to park there, we advise approaching from the east (heading west) along University Ave. Additional street parking is available on Dunlap St.

A lounge area with cozy orange couches and chairs. The walls are a warm yellow color, hung with many picture frames. To the left is a small altar with various objects and plants.
To the left is a hallway with yellow walls and a carpeted floor. The wall is filled with coat hooks. To the right is the dance studio, separated from the hall by a low white wall and a glass panel.
A kitchenette. To the left is a white refrigerator; to the right is a white marble-style countertop with light brown cabinets above and below. The countertop includes a microwave, water filter, dish rack, and sink.
A wide view of the Shawngram Institute from across the street. The building is rectangular, with a flat red roof and large windows across the front. A sign on the roof reads "Ananya Dance Theatre". The windows include posters from a recent show.
