Our 2025 Summer Intensive will explore dancing together as a practice of dreaming, entering a state of continuous rhythmic embodiment that portals joy into acts of resistance.
In this dense practice of dancing, where the rhythms roll us into waves of movement, we invite the awakening of spatial and temporal awareness, heightening our sense of dancing together as a mode of Self-Determination. Some of the cornerstones of this methodology are cellular and nervous awakening, finding the beat, releasing a fixation on verticality, repetition, and finding multiple fronts. We dream this gathering as a crucial moment for strategizing this next resistive phase of our lives. Join us!

Full tuition for the Summer Intensive is $460.00.
Please note that there is a non-refundable $50.00 application fee to help us offset administrative costs. This fee will be deducted from your total tuition after your application is accepted.No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Please reach out to admin@ananyadancetheatre.org if the application fee poses a barrier to you.

The Intensive cohort meets every weekday for one week, 10:00am–2:00pm. Training takes place at the Shawngrām Institute for Performance & Social Justice (1197 University Ave W, St. Paul, MN 55104).
Each day will begin with instruction in Yorchhā. Whether this is your first experience with Yorchhā or you have been practicing for multiple summers, we will meet you where you are, opening paths towards your individual excellence.After a brief break, the daily focus will shift to structured improvisational and choreographic processes.
We will provide accepted applicants with a more detailed daily schedule by the beginning of June. -
We recognize that travel and tuition can pose significant financial barriers for our beloved community. To work towards easing these cost burdens, ADT is able to provide a limited amount of scholarship assistance, in addition to offering housing at a discounted nightly rate to out-of-town artists.
